Summer Course on Green Technology for Sustainable Agriculture

 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystem, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in cooperation with Central Luzon State University, Philippines, Ibaraki University, Tsukuba University, University of the Ryukyu and Kochi University held international summer course program at 13 – 22nd of August 2017. This program attended by 2 visiting lecturer from Central Luzon State University and Ibaraki University, 10 international students from Ibaraki University, 4 students of University of Tsukuba, 2 students of University of the Ryukyu, 1 from Kochi University, 2 students from UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, 20 students of Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, and 16 lecturers and academic staffs.


This course is  devided into 4 groups of programs, which is class, group discussion, field practice and excursion.  Class and group discussion are held at TMB. The objective of the excursion is to introduce rice field agricultural culture and Sundanese agricultural arts at the Kampung Wisata Cinangneng and excursion to the Bogor Botanical Garden to introduce the variety of tropical plants and the icon of Bogor. Field practice and excursion is held at the plantation and the PTPN VIII Palm Oil Factory and the Industrial Plant Research Center (BALITRI) in order to introduce 3 types of commodity of Indonesia’s plantation, which are coffee, chocolate and palm oil.
