Summer Course on Exotic Tropical Animal Science

The Department of  Nutrition Science and Feed Technology, Bogor Agricultural University held a summer course program on the 7 – 12 of August 2017 with the topic on Exotic Tropical Animal Science. T on 7 – 12 August 2017. This program is attended by 11 students from 5 universities, University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Chiang Mai University, Maejo University, Nong Lam University and Ho Chi Minh University.

This program was held during 6 days includes as inhouse training and field practice in several livestock. The livestock that were visited were Balinese Starling/Jalak Bali (Leucopsar rothschildi) Conservation, Timorese deer (Rusa timorensis), Sheep from Garut (Ovis aries), and Renggong Horses (kuda renggong), kuda means (ecuus caballus) and renggong means (dance). The location of the ranch is located at Bogor, Garut and Sumedang.

The program was closed with farewell party in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and gathering at the  Bogor Botanical Garden. The participants actively participate and observe tropical livestock in Indonesia.This program will be offered annually as well in 2018 on 6-12 August 2018. Summer Course of Sustainable Oil Palm Industry in Indonesia

Bogor Agricultural Univesity (IPB)  in Collaboration with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, University of Jambi, University of Tadulako and University of Goettingen, Germany, held a Summer Course of Sustainable Oil Palm Industry in Indonesia in 20 November – 9 December 2017. The summer course was opened by the Vice Foreign Minister and Vice Rector for Resources and Issue Studies of IPB on 20 November 2017 in the Nusantara Room, at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the opening of the Palm Oil Course 2017, the Vice Foreign Minister, Dr. A.M. Fachir underlined Indonesia's commitment to the sustainable palm oil implementation. One of the important initiatives is through the CRC990 establishment, the Indonesian-German research consortium which has been carried out since 2012.

The research is focused on three aspects related to palm oil namely environment, biodiversity and socio-economic. The Vice FM also affirmed that Oil Palm Course is one of the important initiatives in the dissemination process of sustainable palm oil.

IPB dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Pasaman menandatangani naskah kesepahaman (MoU) pada hari Kamis, 25 Januari 2018 yang bertempat di Ruang Sidang Rektor, Gedung Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Kampus IPB Dramaga. Penandatanganan MoU pada bidang pendidikan, penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan langsung oleh Bupati Pasaman AKBP (Purn) H. Yusuf Lubis, SH, M.Si dan Rektor IPB Dr. Arif Satria, SP, M.Si.
